The Talent Shortage Epidemic and Your Organization

Companies rely on their people to grow and innovate. So why, with unemployment currently at 7.2 percent*, are companies saying they can’t fill positions?

The 2013 ManpowerGroup Talent Shortage Survey revealed that 39 percent of U.S. employers claim they have difficulty finding staff with the right skills for positions within their organizations. There are a number of factors at play:
  • Skilled workers are in demand, and they’re demanding—especially in the salary department.
  • There aren’t enough candidates with the right technical competencies.
  • Higher educational institutions are being blamed for failing to equip students with employable skills.
What does this shortage mean for your organization? It means that if you’ve got good people, you need to work to keep them. After all, you might not be able to replace them.

JD Coaching & Consulting is passionate about helping organizations develop and improve to create greater employee engagement, more collaborative teams and improved leadership capacity. Is your organization feeling the effects of the shortage? We’d love to discuss your specific concerns. Let’s chat.
